Profile

Kyohei Ichikawa
Shizuoka, Japan
I started mountaineering with a desire to photograph the stars,
and have been carrying a camera through Japan’s mountains
for over ten years since.
Mountains are beautiful.
Yet that beauty is never simple.
Sudden weather changes, fierce winds, solitude——
forces beyond human control
carve the landscape more deeply into the heart.
To capture the moment when beauty and awe exist together——
that is my work as a photographer.
After publishing a photobook and working with manufacturers,
I began my full career as a mountain photographer in 2024.
I continue to create work through solo exhibitions,
touring shows, and appearances at CP+.
